Wells Fargo and Discover Card say they now provide free credit scores along with Barclaycard and First Bankcard — financial monitoring website, CreditKarma, touts that you can get your credit scores online in minutes — others now offering free scores include the online credit-educational sites Credit.com, Quizzle and CreditSesame.

The JCPenney® Rewards Credit Card, operated by GE Money Bank, is a rewards card for J.C. Penney® customers. Cardholder benefits may include special discounts and exclusive savings, sneak peeks of sales and events, JCP Rewards program, monthly rewards certificates, and the opportunity to earn Gold/Platinum Rewards Credit card status.

Credit scores — they’re like report cards for grown-ups. It’s a three-digit “grade” you get on a scale that ranges from 300 to 850. Your score indicates your creditworthiness to potential lenders, banks, landlords, insurance companies, and even to some employers, for instance. I’m sure you know that the higher your score the better.

This list of popular secured credit cards should be a valuable resource for all of you. Going forward, when I review a secured credit card, I’ll rank it and add it to this list so we have a “master list” of secured credit cards.

Wells Fargo in 2015 should become one of the major credit card issuer to provide Free FICO Credit Scores to customers every month. Bank of America and Chase Bank have said that they’re considering doing the same — giving free credit scores to customers.
